Mulitiple beeps mean the memory or video aren't communicating with the motherboard and it's BIOS. My Laptop Wont Start Up Just A Black Screen I have 2 hard-drives: one with OS and other with my files (pics, music, etc.). I do know that NTFS is a secure file format and it's tough to crack, and the security features may prevent the files from being accessable on a different install. I've never installed a secondary NTFS drive with exisitng data in to an up and running PC before, so I'm not sure if it will work or not.

The beeps are an error code which can only be decyphered by going to the manufacurer's website or looking in the motherboard's manual if you were provided with one. It might be that your power supply has simply failed.
