Most online games are rather CPU orientated, I often achieve a hundred or so FPS. Unless anybody else weighs in I guess I'm happy with the SLI 970 option. Two GTX 970's definitely would be a great buy if your wanting new and getting two but 1 over what you have now would not be that huge a jump in People are most likely to toss in a SLI or Xfire card to thier present system because it can be cheaper, older cards sold used are very inexpencive.

In short, there was a noticeable performance improvement using two cheaper graphics cards instead of a single, more expensive card. Could do with a new one.
