Ok, I hope this helps! Check both ends of the Ethernet cable connected to the adapter to ensure they are not loose. You may even go as far as replacing the network cable to verify that it I'm not too bad working on applications with computers but it's the hardware i'm hopeless at, i've not learned anything at all about it yet. I bought another cable but they still tell me its un-plugged. To solve this problem permanently i had to Upgrade the laptops BIOS reinstall wlan drivers (just installing new bios and wlandrivers didn't solve the problem permanently it just happened more infrequently.)and Could this be for a dial-up connection? The day it arrived was simultaneously fantastic and the bane of my existence since. If I change configure to Manual w/ 10baseT (higher speeds didn't work), it will connect steadily to router but slower (~5Mb download)-- using www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/. the internet just won't work.and the rest of that... Ran hardware test and it shows no problems. Both PC's tell me a netwok cable is unplugged & whichever PC is upstairs just continues to try & dial up but cannot find the server. Once I replaced them with a newer driver the problems went away.

I suspected the cable from the beginning but plugged it into one of the working computers to test and it ran fine.
