You'll need a 64-bit version to take advantage of more than 4GB of RAM, which is the limit for the 32-bit editions. (In fact, 32-bit Windows is limited to accessing 3.2GB While you have available RAM, more RAM will not help (except for dual-channel memory, in which case having your RAM split evenly into two banks is faster). A RAM drive is a drive that delivers considerably faster performance than either a traditional hard drive or even a solid state drive, but it’s not a device you can buy

Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. But please consider that you need to run an operating system (Windows, Linux, etc.), that supports more than 4 GB of RAM, too! Then they have to be read from the (awfully slow!) disk into the memory again. Programs, as I mentioned, would be the likes of CueBase, Reason, Ableton (though likely only two of these at once).
RAM is like short term memory. Should you buy one? As such, a RAM drive isn’t a good choice for storing important files since it loses its data each time it is powered down. I've posed questions to PC World's staff, and even to Acer directly, and they've not known the answer.
Limited Total Capacity As far as how big a RAM drive can be, we’re talking about relatively small capacities. All that being said, I would advise *most* typical users to stay away from RAMdisks and see if you can find a solution similar to what I described. now my SSD is running over and I have a near empty standard Drive...
